Born in 1972 on unceded Wurundjeri Country, Emily Floyd lives and works in Naarm/Melbourne. Over two decades of practice, the artist has produced a major body of sculpture within the public realm, including installations for the Shanghai Library East; Ningbo Central Park; Sydney Modern; 56th Biennale di Venezia and Heide Museum of Modern Art.
Floyd was a joint recipient of the 2020 Melbourne Prize for Urban Sculpture, her work is held in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Australia; Museum of Contemporary Art Australia; National Gallery of Victoria; Bendigo Art Gallery; Monash University Collection; Queensland Art Gallery & Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane; Victoria and Albert Museum and The British Museum. Emily Floyd is represented by Anna Schwartz Gallery, she is an Australia Council for the Arts and Sydney Myer Fellow.
