Melbourne Prize for Music 2016
$60,000
The Melbourne Prize for Music 2016 will be awarded to a Victorian musician, or group, whose work has made an outstanding contribution to Australian music and has enriched cultural and public life.
Outstanding Musicians Award 2016
$30,000 + $2,500 (including GST) Qantas voucher
The Outstanding Musicians Award 2016 will be awarded to a Victorian musician, or group for recent work representing an outstanding example of creativity and skill.
Beleura Award for Composition 2016
$25,000 (New category)
The Beleura Award for Composition 2016 is for a composition of outstanding musicianship, skill and creativity.
Development Award 2016
$16,000 – comprising $10,000 cash + $6,000 Yamaha Music Australia grant
The Development Award 2016 will be awarded to an early career musician or group of musicians, 30 years of age and under, who demonstrate outstanding musical talent and the potential to develop their professional career.
Distinguished Musicians Fellowship 2016
Valued at $20,000 (New category)
The Fellowship will provide the winner with a commercial engagement with the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) and Melbourne Conservatorium of Music (MCM) to the value of $20,000.
The recipient will be selected by the 2016 Judges from the winners and finalists of the four main categories.
Civic Choice Award 2016
$4,000 cash
The public can cast their vote for a finalist in each category to win this Award – voting commences on this website on September 6th and will close at 5pm on November 21st.
Voters will go into the running to win a luxury overnight stay at Sofitel Melbourne On Collins, Melbourne’s Hotel for the Arts.
